Meet the Instructors

Jen Hedger, The Dusty Attic

jen-hedger-the-dusty-attic.jpgI’m the Owner, Creative Director and Designer of The Dusty Attic, a laser cut chipboard company. I established Dusty Attic in 2009 after discovering a love of designing new products and a willingness to share them initially with family and friends. This later grew to a much larger audience and I now ship my products to over 20 different countries. I feel very blessed to have an amazing Design Team who share my love of chipboard and regularly inspire me with their amazing and unique pieces of artwork. My love of paper crafts started long before my company and I have been involved in the scrapbooking and paper craft industry for over 20 years. I have been very lucky to able to teach scrapbooking and off the page projects in many parts of our beautiful country and also have been a part of some amazing retreats overseas. I am so very thankful for all the opportunities that this industry has provided me but more importantly I value all the wonderful friendships I have made along the way. Personally, I am married to a very supportive husband and have two teenage children who continue to amaze me with their individuality and love for life. I feel very blessed that I am able to join you in Florida and share my love of scrapbooking.

Janene Meyerowitz, 49 and Market

janene-meyerowitz-49-and-market.jpgI'm the, owner and creative designer from 49 and Market. I began scrapbooking in 2001. It wasn’t long before the hobby became an obsession. I began teaching classes and workshops locally in Long Island, New York as well as at various expos. Scrapbooking was so much a part of my life that my husband even proposed to me in the pages of Creating Keepsakes magazine! Yep, he took out a full-page advertisement that asked if I would marry him. Who could resist that kind of proposal? After marriage and the birth of our triplets (yes I did say triplets) back in 2011, I decided to take everything online and opened thescrapbookdiaires.com. It was here that I truly mastered scrapbooking and the onset of mixed media from the most talented designers in the WORLD! The website specialized in kits and video instruction form the best of the best! After some time, I decided I wanted to bring new and innovative product designs into the mix, along with making higher quality products. In the few years 49 and Market has been operating we have done just that. Filled with organic colors and textures and combined with botanical designs and themes, 49 and Market has a cornucopia of papers, embellishments, stamps, and more to add a natural flare to all of your paper crafting projects. 49 and Market has paper flowers of all kinds, beautifully detailed papers with intricate designs, the perfect stamps, and more. I am humbled every day to see our products used around the world to highlight cherished memories.


Frequently Asked Questions

To help you get ready to join us at Live, Laugh, Scrap! Florida 2020, we have prepared some additional information below. 

Can I pay for the event in instalments?

Yes! To book your place you will need to provide an non-refundable deposit of US$75. Then you can make two later instalments of US$75 and US$100.

What food is included at the event?

A hot buffet lunch will be provided for both Friday and Saturday. A menu will be provided closer to the date.  Tea, coffee and water will also be available throughout the event.

I have food allergies. Can I get a special meal?

If you have any dietary restrictions please email us at dustyattic.hq@gmail.com by 15 April 2020 and we’ll do our best to accommodate any special requests.

Are children able to attend the event with me?

We ask that no children under 16 be registered or attend this event.

Is the event wheelchair accessible for those with special needs?

Yes! The Courtyard Marriot in Orange Park, Florida has accessible areas with wheelchair accessible routes from the public entrance. The main classroom teaching area and hotel rooms are all wheelchair accessible. How do I make a booking for the event?

What form of payments do you accept?

What is your cancellation policy?

If you are unable to attend the masterclass, please email us at dustyattic.hq@gmail.com by 8 April 2020 and we will refund your event payment (less the non-refundable US$75 deposit).

If you are unable to attend but would like to transfer your booking to a friend, please let us know - no later than 1 week before the event - with the contact details of your replacement and we will help make the necessary arrangements.

How many people will be in each class?

Each class will have room for 80 people.

What will be teaching each of the classes?

We will be teaching 5 classes which will vary from multi photo scrapbook layouts to off the page projects. A details list will be posted soon. There will definitely be something for everyone.

What supplies are provided? What should I bring?

You just need to bring your basic kit including: 

Craft mat

Paper trimmer

Craft knife

Sanding block

Edge distresser

Double sided tape

Foam tape

Glue dots

Strong glue

Paint brushes or sponges for painting

Ruler & Pen/pencil 

Black and brown inks

I have registered for the event. What happens now?

After you have booked your place and paid your deposit, you will receive a confirmation email. Bring this with you to registration on the first day of the event. Registration is open from 7.30am.

I have friends also attending, are we able to sit next to each other?

We will make every effort to accommodate any seating requests. Please email us at dustyattic.hq@gmail.com by 15 April 2020 and we’ll add your request to the seating plan.

What are the hotel accommodations that are available for the event?

How do I register once I arrive at the event?

Registrations will open at 7:30am on Friday morning and you will be able to register right up until the first class of the day at 9.30am sharp. We will have 80 attendees to register on the first morning of the event, so please give yourself plenty of time for us to process everyone in before the first class of the day.

Lanyards

When you register at the event you will be provided with an event lanyard with your name and seating information on it.  Please be sure to wear it at all times when entering/exiting the teaching area and when you attend each class.

On-Site Stores

You will be able to purchase Dusty Attic and 49 and Market products from our on-site store at the event. The on-site store will be open between 7.30 - 9.00am and 1.00 - 2.00pm on both days. Please note that the store won’t be open during classes, so be sure to arrive for your classes in plenty of time to browse see what catches your eye!

Alcohol

We request that attendees do not bring any alcohol to any of the classes. The Courtyard Marriot, Orange Park has a restaurant and a lounge for dining and drinks.
